Giulio Gianturco

Born in 1953, he graduated in medicine and surgery (specialising in medical hydroclimatology and thermal medicine, and phlebology), a profession he still practices. Starting from the Eighties he participated in many regattas and learned to appreciate and love the characteristics of various technical materials (stainless steel, aramid fibres, ...).
From there he learned to transfer his experiences with these materials to designing and building the first pieces for his home. He began to receive requests from friends and started short production runs.

1995 He began working with BOFFI by designing MINIMAL (taps and bathroom accessories totally made from stainless steel).
1997 He designed MATILDE for BOFFI, a complete wall-mounted shower with female forms in Botero style.
1998 He designed BLUES, a floor lamp for FOSCARINI.
1999 He collaborated with KWC in the development of their first kitchen tap in stainless steel (DOMO INOX).
2001 He designed a ceramic hob for TECHIMPEX.
2002 He designed AIR, a three-blade wooden ceiling fan derived from the aeronautical sector, for BOFFI.
2003 TECHIMPEX presented his G COOKING SYSTEM, a modular tabletop system for ollare stone and/or fondue cookery.
2003 At Cersaie, AGAPE presented KAA, the first shower heads and hand showers totally made from silicone rubber.
2004 TUBES presented the T-OT heating system at the 2004 Milan Furniture Show.
2005 He designed B236, a professional built-in stainless steel IceMaker, produced by CASTELMAC-ICEMATIC and distributed by FRIGO 2000.
2005 He designed a line of semi-professional electrical appliances (blender, orange squeezer, toaster).
April 2005 BOFFI presented FIRE, the extinguisher.
14th April 2005 KAA won the ELLE DECO INTERNATIONAL DESIGN AWARD in the Bathroom category.
November 2005 KAA won the DESIGN PLUS MATERIAL VISION award at Frankfurt.
May 2006 He began working with DIMENSIONE DISEGNO.
September 2006 CEA DESIGN presented NEUTRA, a line of taps and bathroom accessories in stainless steel AISI 316L.
September 2006 He presented for AGAPE (in collaboration with the Agape technical department) SOFT2 and SOFT3, bathroom mats in Technogel ®, and HYDRO, idroscopino ®, a bathroom hygiene solution.
February 2007 KAA was awarded the prestigious DESIGNPREIS OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY 2007 in Frankfurt.
April 2007 DIMENSIONE DISEGNO presented the G.BAG, G.FIREPLACE and G.GRATE, series of fireplace accessories.
June 2007 UNION, a project in which artists and designers such as Claudio Silvestrin and Urs Luethi interpreted the cinerary urn for the AD MEMORIAM collection of FUSINA srl, was presented.
October 2007 At Cersaie, CESANA presented PLANO, their first coplanar shower cabin with accessories in stainless steel accessories and "extra-clear" glass, designed in collaboration with Mario Tessarollo.
